While hiking in Iroquois (Mohawk) and overlapping Abenaki territory (Acadia National Park, ME), David’s 1st wife unknowingly makes a poor decision to scale under a railing (rather than wedging between boulders to the right – the real trail) and down yet another smooth rocky surface.   Something deep in David told him to follow her quickly and quietly, to avoid startlingly her further.

He caught up to her, just as she froze on the edge of an 800 foot cliff. “I’ve got you hon.   I need you to keep your foot grip sure.   I’m going to put my arms around you and quickly pull you back into me.   We will be ok.   You cannot panic hon.  I’ve got you.

David’s ancestors, the Wôbanakiak / Abenaki (Algonquin “People of the Dawn Land”)

David’s ancestors had been on that trailhead many times, and they were truly with him on this day.   The White shooting energy, hitting him with a strong premonition, as they approached the ‘False Summit’ on Gorham Mountain, in the shadow of the Cadillac Mountain Cliffs trail.

David had heard a gentle, loving whisper many times over the years of visits on these trails, a soft uttering of “walk lightly …. carry those footsteps“.  He would years later realize that the voice was his Great Grandmother Kaiennenhá:wi (Mohawk).  But on this day he heard for a 1st time, a male voice with an ancient language vibrating in his skull, shouting “stay alive! … reveal the painful secret!

David’s ancestral land: Kanienʼkehá꞉ka (aka Mohawk, People of the Land of Flint)

Yet another moment in David’s life, affirming who he really was.   He was truly connected in Nature, cherishing the feel of every surface texture, favoring his non-standard hiking moccasins rather than the standard-issue LL Bean ‘avid hiker’ series.

This event was a major reset of his confused mind, which was losing it’s way in attempts to conform to what was expected of his Personality, rather than his Essence, within the Playful yet painful plot known as The American [terror] Dream and Corporatized Capitalism.
