Today, I was affirmed in the most beautiful way by my Peoples, being honored by the Southern Cherokee nation, as a PeaceMaker (energy pattern, of ancient Understanding).  They refer me privately as a Peace Chief, but I understand this to mean bottom of the societal structure, not a Top-down leader.   I also Understand that leaders were observed, developed, and selected by Clan mothers, over 6 to 12+ years of nurturing, and not appointed in one defining moment.   I accepted this honor, privately, but do not think of the title nor accept being referred to publicly as the Colonizing (monarchical) ConCept and title of “chief”.

I am deeply honored to serve.   500+ years of pain and denial, now acknowledged so lovingly.  I am returning officially as an indigenous leader, reminding society of our Original Way / Understanding.  My mission is to restore the Heart while Existing and Knowing.   See my mission statement here.

To be acknowledged on May 23rd is extra special.   This is my father’s birthday.   He set in motion, the notion, that I might actually be “something more” than the identity I was hiding under as a result of Genocide and Assimilation of our Peoples.

In our language of Tsalagi, their private way of referring to me would be conveyed as …

English Phonetics:  Dohiyi  Ugvwiyuhi  nvWadoHiyadv
