Mom uttering repeatedly, from her deathbed at Blodgget Hospital
what sounded like inability to breath in enough to say “OhBee … oh …. Obi… zaa[n] … nnnDay … nnnnDe …. innnnDay … (as in DeVid; a’s sounding like Ojibwe es)
“don’t be scared david, your mom is speaking in [religious] tongues … the doc says it happens often … she may not understood you, but stay with her … her chemistry is off … [she’s out of her Mind] ”
religion challenging utterances also (though they’d say God-Affirming)
and ᓐᑌ InDe ! NDe! in Ojibwe, means “my heart … my closest love ” … while she looked at me with [scared?] darting eyes and head tilts (hard for her to swallow)
it all came rushing back to me, how she’d utter Obi and NDe quietly, apparently only to me while I was growing up (siblings have not mentioned or affirmed similar to me).
“David ᓐᑌ … what would you like for lunch?”
giggles at my coaching conversations across my Lego blocks, cars and action figure sets … “awww ha ha! Obi … ᓐᑌ ” [you truly know, need to know more] she thought ?
